The device is used to measure/control the pH value, the redox voltage, or for NH3 (ammonia) concentration measurement. The function can be changed directly at the device. Depending on the measurand, combination electrodes (e.g. pH/redox combination electrodes, gas-sensitive sensors) or separate versions (glass/metal electrodes with separate reference electrode) can be connected. Temperature measurement is used as the second input value which can be performed with such a device as a Pt100/Pt1000. As a result, the ph value and NH3 measurands enable automatic temperature compensation.

The devices are operated via precise keys and a large LCD graphic display. This display allows clear legibility of the measured value. The parameter display in plain text facilitates configuration and supports the user in correctly programming the device.

The modular device structure allows the device to be adapted to the application requirements. Up to four outputs are available (for functions see block diagram).

JUMO tecLine Ci – Inductive Conductivity and Temperature Sensor for Hygienic Applications (202941)
The sensor measures the electrolytic conductivity of a process liquid. The sensor uses the inductive principle of measurement. An integrated, fast-response temperature probe (Pt1000) detects the process temperature at the same time. The overall construction of the sensor conforms to EHEDG standards. The joint and gap-free design and the high quality of the finish meet the highest standards for hygienic processes. The body material is made out of PEEK (polyether ether ketone) in a quality that is approved for food use. Some versions can be supplied with an EHEDG certificate. A wide range of process connections are available to ensure flexibility in systems and to provide spare equipment for older devices. The sensor is primarily designed for use in food and beverage installations. If the body material is suitable, however, it can also be used in other industries. Customized variants (OEM versions) are available upon request. The sensor is practically maintenance-free because it measures inductively. Compared with the conductive measuring method; deposits and grease/oil films on the surface of the sensor have virtually no effect on measuring accuracy. The JUMO tecLine Ci sensor is designed for connection to the JUMO AQUIS 500 Ci transmitter according to data sheet 202566.

    Polarimeters are optical instruments utilizing so called polarized light. There are a great number of organic and inorganic substances being “optically active” in their liquid or dissolved state.

    Such substances are able to rotate the direction of oscillation of polarized light around a determined angle. This angle of rotation is measured by a polarimeter with highest precision. Thus, a polarimeter will be used to determine the concentration of the optical active substance which is dissolved in an optically inactive liquid.

    The measured angle of rotation depends on the nature of the sample (“specific rotation”), the concentration of the optical active components, wavelength of the light, sample temperature and optical path length.

    Automatic process refractometer iPR - EX

    Fully automatic process refractometer for direct measurement of dissolved solids, process monitoring and control. Principle of the critical-angle refractometer with sapphire prism and high-resolution photodiode array; no influence of color and opacity of the medium on the measuring result. Measuring head made of stainless steel, chemical resistant, food safe, hygienic, for process temperatures up to 120 °C (with connected water cooling) and pressures up to 1 MPa.

    The explosion protection version of the process refractometer consists of an intrinsically safe, single-certified sensor, which is installed in the hazardous area. The measuring signals are routed to the non-explosive area via a special cable (maximum length 500 m) and connected to 4 zener barriers. The connection to the central control system is realized with a RTU Modbus or serial RS 485 interface.

    Alternatively, Schmidt + Haensch offers a control unit, which is also installed outside the hazardous area. The 7 “touch screen is individually configurable. The measured data can be output via Ethernet as a 24 V or 4-20 mA signal or control a relay.

    For data transmission to other systems, serial RS 232, 485 interfaces, a CAN bus or UPC server are available.

    Up to two measuring heads can be connected at the same time.

    Conductivity sensors are used in conjunction with conductivity transmitters to define the electrolytic conductivity in liquids. The materials in the sensors are physiologically harmless and meet FDA requirements.

    JUMO conductivity sensors of the design series 202924/10-... and 202924/20-... can be used, for example, in the following fields: pure and ultra-pure water, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, food technology, chip manufacture, ion exchanger plants, and reverse osmosis plants.

    Upon request, LF measuring cells that conform to the pharmaceutical industry are supplied with a surface roughness of <0.8 µ. A factory test certificate according to EN10 204-3.1 is added as a standard certificate. Each electrode is packed in foil.
    A special conductivity sensor is available for high temperature applications. This sensor can be used for medium temperatures of up to 200 °C and a maximum pressure of 17 bar.

        Measurement Regardless of whether it is the pH-value or redox voltage, electrolytic conductivity, high-purity water resistance, temperature, disinfection-related measurands (such as free chlorine, total chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, hydrogen peroxide, and peracetic acid), or the flow volume that is to be displayed and further processed, the JUMO AQUIS touch P provides a central platform to accomplish these things. Pulse rate inputs (counters) are available for flow measurements. Universal inputs can be used to measure almost any analog measurands using standard signals (4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V). In total, the device can measure and manage up to 19 parameters simultaneously.
        ControlOther than numerous simple alarm/limit-value/time-controlled switching functions, up to four high-quality control loops can be simultaneously defined in the JUMO AQUIS touch P.Here, tried-and-tested JUMO control algorithms are used for P, PI, PD, and PID control.
        DisplayA 3.5" color screen with touch function is responsible for the display of all parameters as well as for the operation and setup of the device. The plain-text operation philosophy almost makes use of the manual unnecessary. The operating language can be selected from among 15 languages that are already included in the device at the point of purchase. The language library can be expanded up to 30 languages per PC setup program. It is also possible to display languages with Chinese or Cyrillic characters. As a result, the device is predestined for global use.
        RecordingA paperless recorder is integrated for data recording. Up to eight analog measurands and six binary signals are registered. Their chronological sequence is displayed on the screen. Data storage is tamper-proof and enables official record-keeping requirements. The data can be read per JUMO-PCC software or USB memory stick and be evaluated with the PC evaluation software JUMO PCA3000.
