The volume flow transmitter for air with IP65

General description:
The transmitters of the 985V series are used to measure volumeflow, differential pressure, overpressure and vacuum. A jumperenables switching between volume flow and pressure measurement.


Monitoring of gaseous, non-combustible and non-aggressivemedia.Possible usage areas are:· Building automation and air conditioning systems· Overpressure measurement in clean rooms and laboratories· Measurement of constant pressure in VAV applications· Dynamic filter and ventilator monitoring.

Configuration of volume flow measurement:
1. Select a calculation formula and enter a k-factor, both of whichare dependent on the type of ventilator or measuring probe.
2. Or create a reference volume flow, which is entered directly.A menu guide on the device is available for all settings.

Output signal selection:
The output signal can be changed between0 ...10 Volt and 4 ... 20 mA by removing a jumper.

Switching output:
To give a switch signal at an user defined pressure level thetransmitter has an adjustable transistor switching output(npn NO) with a maximum switching capacity of 30 Vdc/100 mA.(npn NC or pnp NO / NC on request).

Configurable response time:
The response time of the output signal can be configured usinga jumper. If the jumper is in place the response time is slow(factory setting), which is useful for suppressing brief pressurepeaks. If the application requires a fast response time thejumper must be removed.

Easy offset calibration:
Press the left button to adjust the output signal to zero in anunpressurized state. A version with automatic zero-point adjustmentis available as an option.

The transmitter can be reset to its factory setting.

Mounting position:
Can be mounted in any position. The zero offset calibration eliminates any possible position error.

FLOXACTTM PROBE - Multifunctional air flow probe

FloXact probe measures air velocity / air volume in HVAC systems. Its intelligent design makes for easy installation in existing ducts or terminals. Operating on the pitot tube principle, FloXact probe measures the total (PTOTAL) and static (PSTATIC) pressure components of air flow. The probe determines average air velocity, measured over 6, 8, or 10 precisely positioned sensing ports, depending on the length of ducts. The unique shape (patent pending) of the probe profile creates a linear amplification of at least 2.5 times the velocity pressure (PVEL), providing accurate measurement of lower air velocities down to 1.0 m/s (200 FPM). Chamfered entrances to the sensing ports eliminate air-direction affects, making the FloXact probe insensitive to approaching multi-directional, rotating airflow with yaw and pitch up to 30º from straight flow.

FloXact probe is easy to install and completes an accurate and costeffective air flow station, when combined with a differential pressure transmitter. The probe integrates with most differential pressure transmitters, yet improved accuracy is obtained when output is linear to airflow rather than pressure. HK Instruments DPT-Flow line of air flow transmitters pairs well with FloXact probe.
